ACF (INC.) Judges Training Programme

Judges play a pivotal role in the Australian Cat Federation Inc. [ACF] and its Member Bodies as they interpret the Standards of Points and grant awards and titles at our Championship Cat Shows, to those cats that, in their opinion, most closely conform. This is a huge responsibility and one that no judge can ever take lightly.
ACF has developed a Judges Training Programme to ensure that it meets the needs of competency based assessment of Judges’ training and ongoing recognition of its Judges. CatsWA is part of this National Programme.
It includes procedures and protocols for six Training and Assessment Modules, Guidelines for Tutors and written examination requirements. We start as Cadets, then advance to Junior Judges (having passed exams and practical assessments) to Open Judges and then we may apply to be listed on the ACF National and International Panel
Importantly there is a Code of Ethics for our Judges which we are all proud to adhere to.
Pedigree Breed Standards and Judge Training is divided into three Groups comprising some 30+ different breeds. It will take several years to become an accredited Judge. It is an enormous personal commitment. The enthusiasm and hard work of our Judges is the key.
Without Judges following the ‘rules’ there could not be a cat fancy. The importance and value of our Judges to CatsWA and the ACF cannot be stressed enough.
Enquiries about judging and training please refer to CatsWA Judge Training Panel.
